On Sunday, 7th September 2014, our Head of HR Jinny McDermott joined 57,000 other people running for charity to complete the world’s greatest half marathon – The Great North Run – a (hilly) 13.1 mile course from Newcastle to South Shields.

“Suffice to say I was a considerable way behind both Mo Farah and Mary Keitany, completing the course in 2 hours 23 minutes. Slower than last year, but with both knees strapped for support, a credible finish coming in at number 25134”.  Jinny was inspired to run last year having lost her father to MND and having completed the course in 2013, she vowed never to do it again, however, the challenge of ‘racing’ against her brother was too great an opportunity to pass up.

“With both of us running for MND we have so far achieved charitable donations of £820.00”.
